24/7 Data Centre Technician

5 X Data Centre Technician (24/7) | Critical Infrastructure | Perth 

Lumiq Talent is partnering with one of Australia's leading data center operators, that powers the cloud and AI infrastructure behind some of the country's biggest organisations. With continued expansion across its Sydney sites, the team is looking for hands-on technical people to join its 24/7 facilities operations.

The role

You'll help keep mission-critical DC's running around the clock, working across mechanical, electrical and facility systems. Full on-the-job training is provided, so if you come from a trade or technical background and want to move into the data center industry, this is a great way in.

You'll gain exposure to cooling infrastructure (chillers, CRAC units and HVAC), electrical distribution (UPS, generators and power distribution), cabling, building monitoring and fire protection systems.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting 24/7 operations through monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and timely incident escalation
• Assisting with vendor management 
• Responding to remote hands requests, such as rack power-ups
• Working with internal teams and customers to support installations 
• Carrying out regular manual handling as part of the role

What you'll bring

• A trade or technical background, ideally electrical, mechanical, HVAC or building services
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, a customer-focused mindset and a proactive attitude
• Australian Citizenship, as the role requires you to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Nice to have

• A trade certification or engineering background (mechanical or electrical)
• Some knowledge of data centers or cabling

Working pattern
The role runs on a 12-hour rotating roster covering both day and night shift
